January 30 & 31 Concerts: Rescheduled to February 28

Feb 8, 2010

We are delighted to announce new dates for sold-out January 30 and 31 concerts that had to be postponed due to winter weather (that has scarcely let up since!). With hope for much better conditions in a few weeks’ time, we will now present on Sunday, February 28, at both 3pm and 6pm, a wonderful program of works for narrator and orchestra. This program will feature Prokofiev’s beloved Peter & The Wolf along with the much anticipated premiere Fables: Aesop’s Fables with music by Art Wheeler & Paul Reisler and a libretto by Tom Paxton and Paul Reisler. While we are greatly disappointed that we could not find a new date that would allow Jamie Bernstein to return as narrator for Peter & the Wolf, we have an ace up our sleeve in the person of Castleton’s own Dietlinde Turban-Maazel, an award-winning stage and screen actress who has narrated symphonic programs with the world’s top orchestras. The acclaimed actor Ted Pugh and the Charlottesville High School String Ensemble & Friends, led by Laura Mulligan Thomas, complete the artistic forces for our first-ever symphonic concerts in the Theatre House, Castleton Farms.

Tickets for the 3pm show are available at the family price of $25 for adults and $15 for students. All seats for the 6pm show are $30. You can purchase your tickets online or by calling the Box Office at 540-937-4969.
