The premiere of a new short film that was shot at Castleton Farms starring Dietlinde Maazel with cameo appearances by local children Kayla and Jena Robey.
The evening will also include a screening of “The Legacy,” a documentary that explores the hope, dignity, and joy that the pursuit of excellence engenders in a human being. The films follows the lives of nine young musicians as they tour South America as part of The Youth Orchestra of the Americas (YOA) and then return to their hometowns. Along the way, we get to know the nobility of these dedicated young professionals, the impact that music has had on their lives, and the impact they, in turn, have on the world that surrounds them.
Elah and The Moon tells a story about a mysterious world of a boy named Elah, who seeks love from his father, Endymion, a carpenter in 18th century in East of England. Under his broken roof and broken life, Endymion is afraid that his son will end up like him, so he rejects Elah for not being discipline. While passing his worst moment, the Moon suddenly appears and mocks him. It then follows him wherever he goes. It also repeats all he says, until it disappears. When Elah runs back home, it turns into a Moon Goddess, Selene. She kisses his father till he falls into a blissful eternal sleep. Elah being puzzled, then tails Selene, back into a deep forest where she gives birth of the baby Moon, Alicia. Soon Elah's wish to follow his father's path finally comes true. Although it is not the fate that his father wished Elah to have, he falls into a blissful eternal sleep by a kiss from The Moon Goddess' daughter, Alicia, his half sister. The roof is yet still broken.
