Program: Castleton Festival: The Turn of the Screw

Program Details

The opening night of the inaugural Castleton Festival features the premiere of a new production of Britten's most highly regarded chamber opera, The Turn of the Screw, based on the haunting ghost story by Henry James (the inspiration for several film and theatrical adaptations).

The Castleton production team, led by Resident Stage Director, William Kerley, with sets and costumes by Nicholas Vaughan and lighting by Rie Ono, complete their cycle of the Britten chamber operas with this new staging, perfectly suited to the intimacy of our Theatre House.

Maestro Maazel conducts the production premiere with a cast of wonderful young singers and instrumentalists.

The production premiere is followed by an Opening Night Gala, celebrating the inaugural Castleton Festival with cocktails and a seated dinner.
